Rhodes Memorial

 

Situated on Rhodes Ave, Devils Peak, Cape Town.

Rhodes Memomorial was built in 1912 by Sir Herbert Baker to commemorate South African politician Cecil John Rhodes who lived between the years 1853 to the year 1902.

The 49 steps leading to the top of the monument is one for each year that Rhodes lived.

The Memorial offers spectacular panoramic views over Cape Town stretching from Table Bay to False Bay.

There is also a restuarant at the memorial offering lunches.
