Fossil Hills – Accommodation McGregor
Situated just before the small town of McGregor, these tranquil farm cottages offer a variety of activities as well as rest for the soul.
We had the pleasure of staying in Pinotage House, a house that caters for 10 to 15 people, and we can honestly say that a stay here is highly recommended!
The owner was extremely welcoming and she made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay heavenly.
The house comes fully kitted with everything you might need. They spared no expense when it comes this. From fire wood, air-cons in every room, and even electric blankets for the colder nights.
One of the main highlights of the cottages are the KolKol wood fired hot tubs. Relax in the warm water while taking in the magnificent mountainous scenery.
Another recently added feature is a undercover entertainment area perfect for functions such as birthday celebrations or even team building events.
The enormous garden around the house includes a jungle gym for kids, fire pit areas, and various cozy walkways.
Make a bonfire under the stars – We especially enjoyed the fire pit area where we could make a large bon-fire while appreciating the bright stars above.
Some of the activities at the cottages include:
- Mountain Biking (Cottages include 2x mountain bikes per cottage).
- Jungle gym for the kids (at Pinotage House).
- Canoeing in the nearby dam (kayak at the dam).
- Lots of Cycling / Hiking Trails in the area.
There are also plenty of scenic places, wine farms, and roads to discover in the area between Robertson, McGregor and Bonnievale. A visit to the small town of Bonnievale comes highly recommend as a quick day trip during your stay.
